Many people are surprised to discover that, after over 200 years, Wüsthof remains in family hands. Equally unusual is the fact that they have stayed loyal to the City of Blades, and still produce their forged knives only in Solingen, Germany.
Wüsthof believes that quality knives can only be made where high-precision production meets traditional artisanship, and for that there is no place like home in Germany.
Today, the seventh-generation of Wüsthof family members, cousins Viola Wüsthof and Harald Wüsthof, run what has become one of the most innovative knife manufacturers in the world.
WÜSTHOF knives are currently exported from Solingen to eighty countries around the globe, from Reykjavík to Cape Town to Tokyo to San Francisco. Wüsthof are so proud of their heritage, tradition of artisanship, and the wealth of experience they can look back on.
